It may feel strange to read those words, and stranger still to have them apply to you. When I was a vet tech, I saw owners every single week who looked exactly like you probably look right now. Worn down. Uncertain. Guilty about not knowing enough, afraid of making the wrong call, and exhausted from the round-the-clock worry that creeps in when you love a creature who cannot tell you where it hurts or what it needs. They would stand in the exam room with their older dog or their sick cat and apologize for asking basic questions. They would apologize for crying.
