Chapter 1: Why Most Approaches Fail — and What Actually Works
You have likely tried before. You downloaded the app, chose your avatar, and felt a quiet pride as you completed your first three-minute session. Maybe you bought a book on mindfulness, or a journal, or you simply decided that this year, you would finally get your head straight. You set a goal: meditate daily. You promised yourself twenty minutes a morning.
And it worked for a week. Maybe two. Then one day you slept in. Or a project exploded, or your child needed something, or you simply forgot because life has a way of erasing intentions that are not structurally sound. You missed one session, then two. You felt bad about it, so you tried harder to force it. Finally, exasperated and a little ashamed, you quit entirely and concluded that you simply are not the contemplative type.
