The reason most people fail at processing emotions is not that they are doing it wrong. It is that they are not doing it at all.
That sounds like a cheap dig, but it is not. Most people who pick up a book like this have done the work. They have read about emotional intelligence. They have tried journaling. They have gone to therapy for a while. They have taken the personality quizzes that tell them they are a "deep feeler" or a "hyper-empath." And none of it has produced the change they were looking for. They still get hijacked by anger in a meeting. They still lie awake at 2 a.m. replaying a conversation from six months ago. They still say they are "fine" and feel like they are lying.
