Chapter 1: First Day

Welcome to the first day of something real. You've decided to try boxing, which is a fantastic, challenging, and endlessly interesting sport. But before we throw a single punch, know this: today is not about power, speed, or looking good. Today is about getting your bearings, learning what a boxing session actually feels like, and proving to yourself that you can do this one small thing. The win today is simply showing up and completing the session, and I promise you, by the end of it, you will feel a step more capable.

Let's start with a reality check. If you've never thrown a punch in your life, your body is going to be confused. Your feet won't want to stand the way we'll ask them to. Your arms will feel like heavy, uncoordinated spaghetti. Your brain will be working overtime to remember which hand does what. This is all completely normal. The boxing stance you'll learn today is not the way you stand naturally. It's a deliberately athletic position that you'll need to build from the ground up.

First, we need to clear some space. You don't need a ring or a heavy bag for this. You need about six feet of floor space in a room where you won't hit anything with your hands, and where you don't mind a little sweat. You'll also want to be wearing comfortable clothes - something you can move in, like a t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants. Nothing
