Chapter 1: First Day
Welcome. Here's the honest part right up front: your first session will not produce a masterpiece. It won't even produce something you want to show a friend, probably. What it will produce is a tiny moment of magic — the first time you see a stacked set of coins or a pencil roll backward on its own, you'll feel a small jolt. That jolt is the whole reason people spend thousands of hours on this craft. Today, you're going to set yourself up to find that jolt with the absolute minimum of equipment: a smartphone, a free app, some tabletop objects, and about 60 minutes of your time.
