Welcome to the first day of actually learning tie-dye, not just thinking about it. You're probably sitting there with a pre-washed white shirt or a pack of cotton bandanas, feeling a mix of excitement and "what have I gotten myself into?" That's exactly the right place to start. Let me tell you what today is going to look like, because there's nothing worse than starting a project with a fuzzy idea and ending up with a mess and a headache.
Today is not about learning to make a perfect spiral. It's not about mastering color theory or getting a rainbow to show up in six concentric circles. Today is about three things: getting comfortable with the physical materials, making one tiny, complete project, and proving to yourself that the basic sequence works.
