What is Baraitser-Winter syndrome, really? At its core, it's a rare genetic condition that affects how a body develops and functions, from before birth, all the way into adulthood. It's named after the two doctors, Baraitser and Winter, who first put together a description of this pattern of features back in 1988. They noticed that a group of kids had a similar set of challenges and physical characteristics, and they gave it a name.
