You have followed the plan. You did the workouts. You watched the macros. You bought the equipment. You tried the app. And yet, the reflection in the mirror and the numbers on the bar do not match the promise of the marketing. This is not a personal failure. It is a systemic failure. The advice you have been handed is not designed for you, and the approach is built on a foundation of sand.
Let us be precise about what is failing. The most common frameworks offered to women are not actually strength training programs. They are weight-loss programs wearing a strength training costume. The primary goal is rarely "get stronger." The implicit goal is almost always "get smaller." This changes everything. It changes the exercises you are told to do. It changes the rep ranges.
