FPV Drone Building

This book is exactly what I needed. I've built a few quads but always had issues with tuning and vibration. The PID tuning chapter alone is worth the price – the step-by-step procedure with baseline values for my frame/motor combo saved me hours of trial and error. The soldering section is also gold; my joints look cleaner and I haven't had a single cold solder joint since. This lives on my bench now.

It's a decent reference, but I found some of the information a bit too specific to one brand of flight controller. I use a different FC and had to adapt some of the Betaflight settings. Also, the troubleshooting chapter is good, but I wish it had more on FPV video issues. Still, the tables and procedures are well organized and easy to find.

I bought this hoping for more on freestyle-specific tuning, and it does have some good stuff, but I felt like some sections were a bit too basic for me. I've been flying for a few years and already knew a lot of the component selection stuff. The rates and expo chapter was helpful though, and the bench reference tables are handy to have around.

I'm a busy dad who flies freestyle when I get a chance. This book is a lifesaver. I don't have time to watch hour-long YouTube videos or scroll through forums. I just look up what I need in the table of contents, flip to the page, and get the exact torque value or PID setting. The complete build example was my weekend project and it went together flawlessly. Highly recommend for any intermediate builder.

Good book overall. The parts matrix and the soldering sections are really solid. I wish the tuning chapter had a bit more on advanced topics like dynamic idle and feed forward, but it covers the basics well. The troubleshooting tables are well organized and helped me fix a motor desync issue. It's a good addition to any FPV builder's library.
