The troubleshooting chapter is genuinely useful—I saved more reeds than I thought possible. Just not a casual read, more of a dense manual.

A solid purchase. I've been playing since high school and thought I knew most of this, but the chapter on selection was a great refresher, especially the section on matching reeds to mouthpiece facings. The business analysis was also an interesting bonus. I wish there were a few more photos or diagrams of the actual measurements, but the information itself is top-notch.

Finally, a single source that explains why my reeds behave the way they do! The troubleshooting chapter alone is worth the price of the book; I've saved half a box of reeds that I would have thrown out in the past.
