The Complete Handbook of See Saws
A professional's guide to selecting, installing, maintaining, and profiting from commercial and residential see saws
by Alumigogo Books
non-fiction
The definitive technical reference for see saw specification, installation, maintenance, and commercial operation.
About this book
See saws look simple, but their design tolerances, safety integration, and maintenance requirements are anything but. This handbook strips away the marketing gloss and gives you the engineering reality: how fulcrum height and board length interact, why spring-centering mechanisms fail, what concrete footings actually require, and how to read wear patterns on pivot bushings.
Written for the professional who installs, inspects, or operates see saws, this book covers ASTM F1148 and CPSC guidelines, material selection for different climates, torque specifications for hardware, and a documented troubleshooting workflow for the most common field failures. It also includes a full chapter on the business side of see saws — how rental fleets price them, how refurbishers source cores, and how private-labeling works in this niche.
Whether you manage a school playground, run an installation crew, or maintain a rental inventory, this is the reference you will keep in the truck, not on the shelf.

★★★★★This is the see saw book I wish I'd had when I started doing playground installs. The torque specs and concrete footing calculations in Chapter 1 alone are more detailed than anything the manufacturers send me. My only real gripe is that the maintenance chapter could have gone deeper on universal joint replacement — I've had to supplement it with a couple of YouTube videos. Still, it's earned a permanent spot in my work truck.
