The Complete Handbook of Trophies & Awards
A Practical Reference for Buyers, Specifiers, and Sellers of Recognition Awards
by Alumigogo Books
non-fiction
A no-nonsense reference on the materials, manufacturing, selection, repair, and commerce of trophies and awards.
About this book
Trophies and awards are a multi-million dollar industry, yet most buyers make decisions based on a distributor's one-page catalog or a quick online search. This handbook strips away the marketing to explain what awards are actually made of, how they are put together, and why they fail. From the metallurgy of die-cast zinc and the chemistry of acrylic resins to the logistics of shipping fragile glass, you will learn the underlying mechanics that determine quality, cost, and longevity.
The book is organized for practical use. Chapters guide you through the process of specification, purchasing, installation, and maintenance, with real troubleshooting guidance for common problems like loose columns, cloudy acrylic, and peeling engraving. It also covers the business side of awards: how shops price their work, how to start a reselling or private-label operation, and where the industry is heading with digital engraving and sustainable materials.
Written in plain, neutral language, this is not a promotional piece or a gallery of pretty pictures. It is a working reference for professionals who need to make defensible purchasing decisions, for shop owners who want to understand their own craft better, and for serious hobbyists who want to move beyond buying off the shelf.

★★★★★I bought this for reference work in our small awards shop, and the chapters on material specs and troubleshooting alone were worth the price. The chapter on understanding why a die-cast base is better than a resin one for a heavy glass award was exactly the kind of practical info I needed to explain to a customer. I would have liked more photographs, since some of the descriptions of medallion finishing techniques were hard to visualize, but the text is clear and honest. It's a solid upgrade from the typical catalogs we were working from.
