This is a genuinely useful reference, and I've kept it on my bench for the past few weeks. The chapter on sensor placement alone is worth the price—I realized I'd been mounting my capacitive probe right under a supply air vent, and my readings explained a lot of unnecessary headaches. That said, it's not a light read. The physics in the first chapter is solid, but it reads like a textbook, and I worry that some hobbyists just starting out will be put off. The author also seems to assume a certain level of technical vocabulary that not everyone will have. If you're a professional or serious hobbyist with some scientific background, it's great. If you're a beginner with your first cheap hygrometer from an online retailer, this might be overkill. For me, it was a good investment, but I can see it being a three-star book for others.
