About this book
You've been thinking about trying archery. Maybe you loved the archery scenes in Game of Thrones or Hunger Games, maybe you want a new solo sport, or maybe you just want to know what it feels like to hit a target. But every time you look into it, you're buried in advice about compound bows and carbon arrows before you've even held a bow. You don't want a lifetime plan, you want a 10-day experimentβand that's exactly what this guide is.
This is a literal day-by-day plan designed for a complete beginner. Each chapter tells you what to do, what it will take to do it, and what you should feel. You'll start by finding a range and renting a basic recurve bow. You'll learn the stance, the grip, the draw, and the release in a set order that builds on itself. By Day 10, you'll have shot a full session, understood the common mistakes, and asked the important questions about whether to continue. No inspiration, no 'you can do it!'βjust a clear path and realistic expectations.
It's honest about what 10 days can teach you: enough to hit a pie-plate-sized target at 10 meters consistently, enough to talk to a pro shop assistant, and enough to know if you want to spend money on gear or lessons. You don't need to buy anything upfront. You just need a few hours, an open mind, and the willingness to sweat a little.

β β β β βI bought this guide because I wanted an honest answer to 'can I do this?' and I loved that the First Day chapter just told me to go rent a bow and shoot at 5 meters without buying anything. The checklist on Day 2 helped me realize I had 4 free hours and a real range 20 minutes away, so I actually did it. I'm not Robin Hood, but after Day 4 my arrows stopped pointing at the ceiling. For the price of a pizza, this is worth it.

β β β β βThe 10-day plan is fine, but Day 1 assumes you have a nearby range with rentals, which isn't true for everyone. The troubleshooting chapter was okay, but I wished it covered more about outdoor vs indoor shooting. I still finished the plan and knew more than before, but I think the guide over-promises on the 'day by day' part if you live in a rural area.
